DiscoverDesign.org Announces 2012 National High School Design Competition

DiscoverDesign.org: The Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF) recently launched a free online educational tool to connect teens, teachers, and architects to project-based learning opportunities, with strong emphasis on 21st century skills development. To celebrate, the CAF is inviting U.S high school students (at least 13 years old, grades 9-12) to enter the 2012 National High School Architecture Competition.

The competition challenge: redesign your school cafeteria for healthy eating in a sustainable space. Register at discoverdesign.org by April 4, 2012.

All students registered in the competition receive access to free online tutorials for design software such as Google SketchUp, Revit, 3DS Max Design, Photoshop, and AutoCAD courtesy of BlackSpectacles.com.

Registration and consent forms deadline: April 4, 2012.
Project submissions deadline: May 23, 2012.
