20th Annual Model Exhibit: Resurgence

Organization:
Seattle Architecture Foundation
Exhibition Dates:
Sep. 14, 2017 to Nov. 18, 2017

For two decades the Seattle Architecture Foundation has hosted the Architectural Model Exhibit, an opportunity for local architects and designers to connect and share their work with the Seattle community. We are now accepting submissions for our 20th Annual Architectural Model Exhibit: Resurgence, which will open to the public from September 14th – November 18th, 2017.

In a time of intense cultural and social change, Resurgence challenges designers to explore the ways in which their work intersects with the growth of grassroots and community movements, the changing conceptions of what cities can be and do, and renewed interest in formerly neglected places, spaces, and ideas.

For the 20th Annual Architectural Model Exhibit, SAF invites local designers to submit models produced for both conceptual and presentation uses. Proposed entries should engage with our exhibit theme of Resurgence. Possible avenues for exploration may include but are not limited to: the revival of vernacular building techniques and materials; the national movement back to the urban core and the rebirth of the city as the epicenter of civic change; a renewed interest in preservation of all kinds – of community, natural resources, or historic architecture.
